TCRG All Stars vs Vancouver Murder
Dec 20 | 10PM | Stardust Roller Rink, Surrey | $10

Boys versus girls, the eternal competition of the sexes. This special derby game is just that, Vancouver’s first ever men’s roller derby team versus the well-known and established roller derby women. Time to check out if this murder of men is as intimidating and entrancing as the murder of crows we see every night flying overhead.

DIY Anar-Craft Market

This evening will be a chance to disrupt Consumer-istmas by selling, trading, or giving away stuff we’ve made instead of supporting the Christmas Industrial Complex. This is all about the D.I.Y. and the anti-capitalist aspects of sharing our skills with each other, and will feature jewelry, patches and zines, art-prints, sauerkraut, and much more, all created by folks in the community. Please feel free to bring contributions for the free table as well!

Last Chance Christmas Craft Fair

The Last Chance Craft Fair is proud to offer this one-day extravaganza right before Christmas!  A perfect opportunity for vendors to sell the last of their holiday stock before the end of the season.  It’s also the best time for avid shoppers to ring in on the best vendor discounts.

DANCE PARTY

Intention 14 – A Dance Party

Intention is a self-sustaining, all-ages, ethnically diverse superfragilistic-art-dance-creative community. They are hosting a fundraiser to make next year’s INTENTION the best party ever by enabling more people to come through subsidized costs. It also falls nicely in time with the “end of the world” and the Winter Solstice to be celebrated with a potluck feast and a crazy night of dancing.

BC Dance Fundraiser and Christmas Party 
Dec 20 | 7PM | Rhodes Wellness College | $5

BC Dance is hosting their Annual Christmas Party and celebrating through the gift of giving. This year they are collecting new and old dance shoes to send to Cuba for the children and adults who love to dance but cannot afford to buy them. There will be introductory lessons taught by the talented instructors as well as performances and of course music all evening to keep you celebrating the festivities on the dancefloor. The event is a potluck so bring something tasty (beverage or food), to add your flavour to the mix.

An Evening of Magical Wonders

Lions Gate Montessori is hosting an evening of magical wonders.  Come and see Master Illusionist, Vitaly Beckman perform original acts that will leave you wondering “How is that possible?”. The event is sponsored by the LGMS Parent Support Group. All net proceeds from this event will go towards enrichment activities at all LGMS schools as well as to students participating in the Montessori Model United Nations. Invite your family and friends to a “jaw-dropping show” and support the LGMS students.

Winter Solstice Lantern Festival: Shadow Show
Dec 21 | 6-10 PM | Vancouver | Free

Show your creativity in the form of a lantern. There will be a variety of workshops between 4:00 – 6:00pm to get you ready to gather as a community and partake in the lantern festival.

Drop in and make a simple lantern to carry in the procession that leaves at 6:00pm. Lantern can be made in as short as 30 minutes. While supplies last. $10/lantern

Scrooge and Marley Movie

Vancouver Pride Society presents “Scrooge & Marley” , a modern-day variation on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Recounted from a gay sensibility, with heart, comedy and music, the magic of Dickens’ timeless tale of a man’s redemption at the holidays—thanks to the help of three ghostly spirits—comes alive from a fresh perspective that will appeal to audiences of every persuasion. The film is based on an original script by Ellen Stoneking, Knight and Timothy Imse.
